Jesse Gander
Jesse started recording bands on his 4-track cassette recorder in 1994. Since then he has recorded over 700 bands from all over the world. He has travelled to make records in Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, and all over the U.S.A. and Canada. He is also a keen mixing engineer with regular customers all over the world.
Jesse’s experience makes him comfortable with almost any genre or format. His engineering puts a strong focus on recreating the classic tones of yesteryear, but brought up to date with modern production techniques. He aims to please the artist and strives to make every record its own unique sonic landscape. An absolute Protools wizard from an analog tape background, he is comfortable with any type of location and tries to accommodate any budget.
Jesse has produced records for many international record labels such as; Domino, Anti, Arts and Crafts, Sergeant House, Hassle, Alternative Tentacles, Mint, Network, No Idea, Deranged, Dirt Cult, Artoffact, Seasons Of Mist, Pelagic, etc etc etc…
Jesse was awarded “Engineer of the Year” in the Western Canadian Music Awards in 2017 for his work with The Pack AD. He won 2 Junos for Anciients “Voice Of The Void” and “Beyond The Reach Of The Sun” and has been “shortlisted” in the Polaris Prize for his work with Japandroids on their now classic album “Celebration Rock”. Jesse produced White Lung’s album “Deep Fantasy” which Rolling Stone Magazine listed as “one of the 40 greatest punk albums of all time”.
